A young man from the country lives in the city with a friend and is trying to become a piano concert performer but writes popular songs as well. He is in love with a girl and he stops seeing her when a rich woman offers to help him with his career. She gets a scholarship for him and forces him to shut in to study. His fiancée thinks he is cheating on her and leaves him.
