Alfonso Claros, a young engineer with studies in France and literary concerns, arrives in the international train to Uyuni, a town where the spell of the devil's metal smiles at both the workers and the owners of the company. Uyuni is, at that time, the scene where some characters converge whose existences, in an effort to make their fortune and find and a furtive love, enter a game of passions and frustrations motivated by the sensuality of a chola that captivates them with their pride and their beauty.
