In the first place, please be sure that you see the name of your University or Library in the upper-right corner.

Once you have located the film or documentary you are interested in, click on the cover or the title and you will access to the full file card.

There you will find, among others: the original title, producer and production country, director, cast, year and duration, genre, original language, and the language or languages that you will find available on Digitalia, as well as whether the film has subtitles or not. You will also find the synopsis and the awards that the film has received.

To play the movie, click on the "Play film" button that appears under the movie's cover. If you cannot see this button, it means that your institution does not have access to that movie.

Once you click on this button, you will be shown a screen where you can select the language in which you want to play the movie.

Click the button for the desired language, and the movie will start playing immediately.

In the bottom bar of the viewer you can pause the video, or advance it by clicking anywhere on the time bar. You can also regulate the volume and put it on full screen.

Regarding subtitles, there are two variants in Digitalia films:

1) Embedded subtitles: appear automatically without you doing anything

2) Optional subtitles: you can activate or deactivate them with the "CC" button that appears in the bottom bar of the viewer. Likewise, if there are several subtitle languages available, you can select the one you want from the drop-down that will be displayed.

If the "CC" button does not appear, it means that the movie does not have subtitles, or they are embedded. Please check the "Subtitles" field on the film's tab to find out if subtitles are available.
